A 7-year-old and his 9-year-old brother were hit by a car in southwest Atlanta Wednesday while on the sidewalk with their mother. Police have caught and arrested the juvenile driver of the car, which was stolen out of Fulton County. He and the three other occupants ran away after the accident.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said the 7-year-old had a broken arm and the other child was not seriously hurt. The boys mother also sustained an injury to her left arm. She declined treatment and was transported to Egleston Hospital along with her children.

The car involved in the 11:20 a.m. accident was left at the scene at Donnelly and Lawton Avenues.
