Two men in their 20s were found dead in a roadside ditch near Buford on Tuesday morning, Gwinnett County police said.

The bodies had "obvious signs of trauma," said Cpl. Edwin Ritter, a police spokesman, but "it's unclear as to whether they were shot or whether it was from being dragged, whatever it may be."

A motorist spotted the bodies just before 6:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Old Suwanee Road, near Buford Highway, and called 911.

The victims have been identified as Martin Gomez-Gonzalez, 26, of Buford, and Gerardo Osorio-Amador, 24, of Sugar Hill.

Police said they are not disclosing the cause of death because public knowledge might compromise the investigation.

Ritter said he did not know how long the bodies were lying there. The bodies were clothed, Ritter said.

He urged anyone with information to call police.
