Two people were arrested early Thursday in connection with the murder of a Stone Mountain man found dead this week on the Clarkston campus of Georgia Perimeter College.

GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang said Christopher Shepard, 28, was charged with one count of murder, while 44-year-old Constance Mason was charged with one count of false statements and writings.

Shepard and Mason live a short distance from where 23-year-old Alpha Oumar Diallo’s body was found along North Indian Creek Drive.

A passerby discovered Diallo’s body about 7 a.m. Monday in a grassy area near Georgia Perimeter College’s nursing building.

Diallo, who was not enrolled at the college, had last been seen at 4 p.m. Sunday at his home in Stone Mountain.

Lang said an autopsy revealed that Diallo’s death was caused by strangulation and blunt force injuries to the head.

Investigators have not released a motive for the slaying.
