The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners are set to vote on several appointments at its regular meeting 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Maloof Auditorium, 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, according to the posted agenda.

Most notably, George Turner may be finally appointed to the District 5 of DeKalb County Board of Commissioners. Turner was picked to fill Interim CEO Lee May’s seat back in August since May became the county’s chief executive, replacing CEO Burrell Ellis when he was criminally charged. However, there have been delays in his confirmation.

Since former Commissioner Elaine Boyer resigned earlier this year, there are five commissioners left on a body with seven elected seats.

Other appointments to be voted upon include:

  • Roderick Bridges to DeKalb County Recorder's Court Judge
  • Allyson Gevertz to the DeKalb County Department of Family and Children Services Board
  • Michael Thurmond to the DeKalb County Department of Family and Children Services Board
  • Ernestine P. Cole reappointed to the DeKalb County Department of Family and Children Services Board
  • Ronald Mangum reappointed to the DeKalb County Department of Family and Children Services Board.
