The Interstate 20 turnaround bridge between Evans Mill Road and Lithonia Industrial Boulevard in Lithonia is closed to through-traffic for the next four week. The structure will be under construction until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28. The Georgia Department of Transportation will be doing repairs to replace two support beams.

The bridge, which links the easbound and westbound service roads along I-20 from Lithonia Industrial to Evans Mill, was built in 2004. The total improvement cost of $1.2 million, includes a bridge improvement cost of $840,000 and a road improvement cost of $84,000, according to GDOT.

Road closure and detour signs are placed in the area to advise motorists of construction work and traffic restrictions. Information: DeKalb County Roads and Drainage Department at 404-294-2878.
