Decatur’s second commission meeting this month, scheduled for Feb. 20, has been cancelled due to a lack of agenda items. Cancellations are rare. City Manager Peggy Merriss believes there has only been one other in the last five years.

Mayor Patti Garrett added there was no business from the city’s planning commission this week, no public comment signees, and City Schools Decatur has winter break.

“If we had a meeting,” Merriss said, “it would be just to approve the minutes.”

Decatur’s commission meets first and third Monday of each month (or Tuesday if Monday’s a holiday) save the week of July 4th (July 2 this year).

The next meeting is 7:30 p.m. March 5 at City Hall, 509 North McDonough Street.
