The Tucker Main Street streetscape project will be officially unveiled in a ribbon cutting Saturday in the historic business district.

The $1.6 million project widened sidewalks, added streetlights and installed landscaping along Main Street. The Atlanta Regional Commission, state Department of Transportation and DeKalb County paid for the work with grants.

Since the start of the project, a new restaurant, furniture shop, patio shop, fitness center and antique stores have opened in the area.

The ribbon cutting begins at 4:30 p.m. Saturday  on Main Street, between Lawrenceville Highway and LaVista Road.
