As one trail renovation wraps up, work is to begin in the coming weeks to rehabilitate and extend another trail in Forsyth County, the Parks & Recreation Department announced.

Work soon will begin on renovating trails at Chattahoochee Pointe, 5790 Chattahoochee Point Drive. An existing trail will be redone, and length will be added to create a continuous, 5K route. Also, a new restroom building will be constructed. The $419,000 job is assigned to Steele Construction and is to be completed by December.

Another rehab, of a section of Phase 1 of the Big Creek Greenway, was to have ended Aug. 31, but the target completion date has been pushed back to Sept. 15 because the project has been expanded from 200 feet of trail to 375 feet. This section of the Greenway is closed from the Union Hill Road trailhead north about a half-mile. Atlantic Building Specialties Inc. is the contractor.
