With a little more than a year left for construction on the I-985 exit 14 interchange project in Flowery Branch, traffic will shift on Thurmond Tanner between Avery Drive and Tanners Creek Road to accommodate more progress.

Drivers will be reduced to one lane for approximately half a mile, for the next four months while the contractor widens the road for the right turn lanes, center turn lane, and median construction.

The new right turn lanes will be longer, and an additional left-hand turn lane on the north side of Martin Road will also be built during this lane shift.

G.P.’s Enterprises Inc. was awarded this project in June 2017, and the scheduled completion date is Aug. 31, 2019.
