Forsyth County has announced a traffic shift for an estimated three months to allow for the widening of Union Hill Road in the southwest corner of the county.

The shift, from the Hollybrooke subdivision entrance to Tidwell Road, retains a lane of traffic in each direction, officials said.

Union Hill is to get two lanes in each direction and a 20-foot raised median, shoulders, curbs and gutters, with a 5-foot sidewalk on one side and a 10-foot multi-use path on the other, according to the Forsyth interactive transportation projects map.

The $19.7 million project extends from Ga. 400 to McFarland Parkway, a distance of 1.89 miles. C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. Inc. is the county's contractor. Information: https://bit.ly/2MZ6vQ2
