Traffic changes set for Forsyth road project

Drivers are getting a reminder about two traffic shifts in connection with the Bethelview Road widening project in Forsyth County.

Through the weekend, traffic will shift temporarily onto the newly-constructed portion of Bethelview from Northridge Drive to Drew Road. Then on Aug. 7, traffic will be placed permanently on newly-constructed Drew Road.

The changes are part of the overall project project widening Bethelview to four lanes between Castleberry Road and Ga. 20. The five-mile stretch also includes a raised median, curb and gutter and sidewalks. State officials previously said the $37 million project should be finished by mid-2019.
