A child has died after a four-vehicle crash on Ga. 316 near Duluth, Gwinnett County police said.

The crash occurred late Thursday morning on 316 westbound near Boggs Road, the department said in a tweet. The child, whose age is not yet known, was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville and later died, according to the department.

Three other people involved in the accident were injured. One was transported to Gwinnett Medical with non-life threatening injuries and two others were treated at the scene of the crash and released.

Ga. 316 westbound was partially closed for more than an hour after the crash but was reopened shortly before noon.

The new station will be about 40 percent bigger, hold more trucks, hold more equipment and provide better service.
