Drivers and residents should be aware that over the next several days, a film crew will affect traffic in Chamblee.

According to a notice from the Chamblee Police Department, the film crew is working starting Wednesday on Pierce Drive near Himalayas Indian Restaurant, close to the intersection with Peachtree Road.

There will be a full day of filming on Monday, April 22 (from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.), which will lead to a lane closure of Pierce Drive, the police department said.

There will be fake guns and gunfire on set, the police department warned.

“Traffic will be disrupted in the area,” the department wrote.

Police did not say what is being filmed.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
