Tornado hits Cherokee

A tornado touched down five miles southeast of Holly Springs in Cherokee County. A report from Cherokee County north of Woodstock and east of Lake Allatoona at 6:30 p.m. included marble-sized hail, strong winds and heavy rain. The tornado touched down at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday five miles southeast of Holly Springs in Cherokee County. A tree was down along Sixes Road.

Motorists on Toonigh Road were stopped and not allowed to travel any farther Tuesday night because of a downed tree and power lines on the road in Holly Springs.
