How did Clayton lose its accreditation? The story began in November of 2007.

How did this all begin? Clayton schools had accreditation troubles earlier this decade, but was merely placed on probation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The latest saga began in November of 2007 when SACS received complaints and launched a new probe. SACS voted 33-0 in March 2008 that Clayton should lose its accreditation at the start of September unless nine goals were met, including installing a new school board.
