Thursday will be unseasonably cool and soggy, but the rain should end early in the day on Friday, leaving behind glorious weather for the weekend.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said the chance of rain is 100 percent Thursday, diminishing to 30 percent Friday morning.

Temperatures Thursday should be about 20 degrees cooler than normal, only reaching the upper 40s, Minton predicted.

But the cooler weather will be short-lived, with highs reaching the low 60s on Friday after a morning low in the low 40s.

Saturday and Sunday should be sunny, with highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.

The weekend’s nice weather should carry over into Monday, when highs will be in the mid-70s.

Rainfall totals from Wednesday night and Thursday morning ranged from .29 inch in Dunwoody and .31 inch in Marietta to .47 inch in Peachtree City, .66 inch in Dallas and .72 inch at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
