One snow day down. At least one more to go.

DeKalb County is once again shut down Thursday, as it was Wednesday when snow blanketed the roads. The roads are rough and many major ones are closed.

With forecasters calling for the roads to ice over, DeKalb County Schools went ahead and called Thursday off. County offices, senior centers, libraries and recreation centers are also closed, as well as the DeKalb courthouse and all the courts that typically operate therein.

After a day of accidents and incidents on the roads, county police were recommending folks avoid driving Thursday.

Warming shelters on Flat Shoals Road and Crown Point Parkway have been closed, and the last one, located at 100 N. Clarendon Avenue in Avondale Estates, was set to close at noon.

Malls were working to get back to normal. Stonecrest Mall was planning to open at 10 a.m. The Gallery at South DeKalb, also known as South DeKalb Mall, planned to open at noon. Perimeter Mall hadn’t revealed its plans by 8:45 a.m.
