Three people are recovering from burns and smoke inhalation after a house fire in Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett fire Capt. Eric Eberly said the blaze began around 5:30 p.m. Sunday as an accidental grease fire on a  stove being used in the garage of the home in the 500 block of Coalville Drive near Lawrenceville.

Firefighters found heavy smoke conditions in the single-story house, and were met outside the home by two adult females and a male toddler.

The women sustained "minor to moderate burns about the upper extremities, as well as possible inhalation burns," Eberly said, while the child was suffering from smoke inhalation. All three were treated at the scene, then transported to Gwinnett Medical Center.

Eberly said firefighters quickly contained the majority of the fire to the garage area of the home.
