Three Georgia cities are where you want to be if you're looking to surround yourself with college-educated people, according to one study.
The educational resources and rankings website DegreeQuery.com used U.S. Census data to rank Atlanta, Cumming and Marietta as some of the most educated places in the United States.
The ranking was based on the percentage of people ages 25 and older holding at least a bachelor's degree.
Atlanta ranked No. 24, Cumming ranked No. 41 and Marietta ranked No. 42 nationally.
Atlanta is home to more than 30 colleges and universities, include Georgia Tech, Georgia State University and Emory University. Fulton County has about 622,408 people 25 or older, with 48.2 percent holding a bachelor's degree or higher, according to the study.
Forsyth County's Cumming has 116,454 people 25 or older, with 43.8 percent of them holding a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Cobb County's Marietta has an estimated population of 457,919 people 25 or older, and 43.7 percent of them hold a bachelor's degree or higher. DegreeQuery also cited the Cobb County Public School District and WellStar Kennestone Hospital as the city's top employers.
Arlington, Va., which sits across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., was ranked as the nation's most educated city.
