The lack of public restrooms at three Fayette County high school baseball fields is being reviewed by the board of education.

At the board’s Oct. 15 work session, assistant superintendent Mike Sanders said that players and spectators at Whitewater, McIntosh and Sandy Creek must go off site, usually to the football field, in order to use the restroom, which can be further complicated if those areas have restricted access because of other events.

Sanders said it would cost a total of about $500,000-$600,000 to build restrooms at those schools, which would come from SPLOST II revenue. However, the board wants to review the current SPLOST project list before committing to funding another, and will revisit the issue at a later meeting.
