Atlanta police are investigating yet another series of break-ins to vehicles in the Buckhead area, with 16 vehicles targeted in the predawn hours of Wednesday.

Officers responded about 6:30 a.m. to a reported theft from a vehicle at 3432 Piedmont Road. The address is the Cambridge at Buckhead apartments, according to the property's web site.

The break-ins occurred between 4:20 and 6 a.m., police said. Windows were broken out, and a laptop computer, several iPods, an iPhone, jewelry, several GPS units and a handgun were among the items reported stolen.

On July 17, police reported at least 30 cars had been broken into overnight in the Lenox Heights apartments on Pine Heights Drive in south Buckhead. GPS units and MP3 players were the commonly reported missing items. Additionally, one car was stolen.

On July 19, police reported 35 vehicle burglaries in two separate incidents, on the 240 block of North Highland Avenue and the 1000 block of Euclid Avenue.

Two suspects were arrested that morning allegedly going into cars parked at the Savannah Midtown apartments in the 200 block of North Avenue, and police were investigating if they were responsible for the other thefts.
