People shouldn't be waiting till they're young adults to learn that there are consequences to every choice.

Kudos to the volunteers who have gone to Oklahoma to assist in whatever way they can to make life a little easier for the tornado victims. They deserve our heartfelt thanks.

Memorial Day and I think of my father who was an artillery officer with the Fourth Armored Division of Patton's Third Army. The more I read, the more I appreciate what he did.

When my first grandchild was born and a question arose about the baby, my daughter said "But Dr. Spock said—-" My response was "But your baby has not read Dr. Spock" and that was the end of relying on a book to raise a child.

The mistakes of kids today often don't just lead to bills. They often lead to serious injury or death.

Why do we continue to buy into this lie that a new stadium will create thousands of permanent jobs and millions of dollars in new revenue?

For a war to be "over" don't both sides have to think its "over"?

I was disturbed over the weekend at how many intelligent people on my Facebook feed had no idea who they were supposed to be honoring on Memorial Day. Memorial Day is not to be confused with Veterans Day; Memorial Day is a day of honoring those who died while serving in combat. It is Veterans Day when we pay homage for the service of all U.S. military veterans.
