If Parkside West Cobb seems like it has smelled like Chicago dogs since Sunday, there’s a reason.

That's where and when Cobb County's second location of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opened.

The store, 3705 Dallas Highway SW, is in the newly opened shopping plaza anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market near The Avenue West Cobb.

This is the latest development in an area of Cobb that has seen tremendous growth the last few years seemingly independent of the Braves’ new stadium some 15 miles away.

The County Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to delay the final decision on a developer's 108-home subdivision amid complaints from neighbors. The housing complex would be a mile away from Parkside West Cobb.

The 3,010 square-foot restaurant seats 100 guests and has more seating on the patio. There’s also a drive-thru window.

The franchise started serving burgers and hot dogs in Kansas in 2002. Now, the company boasts 246 stores across 30 states.

This store will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The first Cobb location opened at 1360 Earnest Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw in November.

The Cobb Chamber will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday for the new store. Folks from MUST Ministries of Marietta will be there. The local nonprofit group will get 10 percent of sales from all regular and large frozen custard sold through April 19.
