Teenager tied up during home invasion
Atlanta police Thursday were investigating an early morning home invasion in which a man was accosted in the driveway of his home and his teenage son tied up.
The incident happened just after midnight on Oldknow Drive, in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood off Hamilton Holmes Drive.
Atlanta police Capt. Van Hobbs told the AJC that the victim was returning home from a fast food restaurant and had just opened his garage when he was approached by four or five gunmen.
While some of the suspects searched the man’s car, others went into the house and tied up the victim’s teenage son, Hobbs said. A 9-year-old child also inside the house was not tied up, he said.
Hobbs said the victim’s wife was able to escape the house. No one was injured during the incident, he said.
The suspects left the home after taking $400.
