DeKalb County police continue investigating the death of a 44-year-old man whose son found him shot in the head last week.
Thomas Brown was leaving an apartment off I-20 and Whites Mill Road last Thursday night to buy cigarettes when his wife heard gunfire, according to a police report.
She believed there were 10 to 12 shots. One of Brown’s sons, 17, ran outside and found him slumped over in his 2000 Buick Century, which had crashed into a building on Whites Mill Road.
He died the next morning at the hospital.
Police didn’t respond to emailed questions about what led to the shooting and if Brown was the intended target.
Police have announced no suspects and released no more information.
