A 60-year-old man remains in critical condition after being beaten in the head, and a teenager has been charged for the attack.

Re’Dareio Raynard Jordan, 19, faces aggravated battery and armed robbery charges, according to Marietta police. He was arrested Friday evening, a day after he's accused of attacking a man and stealing his wallet.

The man who was beaten has not been identified.

Police said the older man was at a home in the 400 block of North Marietta Parkway at the time of the incident. Jordan's relatives live at the residence, according to Officer Jennifer Murphy. Robbery is believed to be the motive, she said.

Jordan is accused of beating the man with a metal crutch and a metal broom, according to his arrest warrant. He is being held in the Cobb County jail without bond, due to a separate incident in East Point.

Anyone with any further information on this case is asked to contact the Marietta Police Department at 770-794-5300.
