A 17-year-old accused of using a Ford-150 pickup to run over another youth after a fight has surrendered to authorities, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said Monday

Diante Andre Rosado surrendered to authorities in Beacon, N.Y. over the weekend, according to Cpl. Ashley Henson. He is facing a felony aggravated assault charge in Paulding County.

On July 1, Rosado and a 15-year-old boy got into a fight on Hope Drive in the Twelve Oaks Subdivision off East Paulding Drive, Henson said. Witnesses told deputies that when the fight was over, Rosado got into the truck and ran over the other teen before leaving the area.

The injured teen, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital with foot and ankle injuries, Henson said. He was expected to survive his injuries.

Deputies have been searching for Rosado since the incident and believed he may have been trying to flee the country. Henson said Rosado turned himself in without incident.
