Three Georgia Tech students were robbed at gunpoint early Monday at a house in northwest Atlanta.

Atlanta police spokesman James Polite said the victims were robbed while sitting on the porch of a home in the 1000 block of Hemphill Avenue, in the Home Park neighborhood about two blocks north of the Tech campus.

"They were approached by three black males wearing gloves and dark-colored bandanas with a bat and a handgun," Polite said.

"An altercation took place and one [victim] fell from the porch and ran to call for help," Polite said. "The other two were forced by gunpoint inside and money was demanded from them."

Polite said the suspects only took a cell phone before fleeing the home.

The robbery took place about a block from the parking deck where Tech student Patrick Whaley was shot during a May 4 robbery.

No arrests have been made in either incident.
