Tech gets minority business grant

The Georgia Tech Research Corp. has been awarded a five-year, $298,255 federal grant to provide technical expertise and resources to Atlanta minority businesses. The goal is to help them gain access to capital and create and retain jobs.

The U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency grant will fund an MBDA Business Center at 505 Tenth St. NW.

Nakita Chambers, MBDA program manager said the center offers help obtaining technical services, identifying alternate sources of capital, and getting information about mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
