Item: Sandy Springs (Fulton) - Fixed
Anne Palmer is happy with how we aid our readers, and brought another item to our attention.
“You are doing a super service to us — thank you! Each time you contact the appropriate officials, the situation which requires work is corrected. We tried to turn left off of Johnson Ferry Road today, onto Meridian Mark Drive. However, there is no street sign showing Meridian Mark Drive,” Palmer wrote.
She said when we finally got to her destination, the office manager said that most everyone who comes there complains about no street sign and how difficult it is to get to their office.
She added there was a Sun Trust bank at the corner of Johnson Ferry Road and Meridian Mark Drive.
“To our dismay, the bank was demolished, so there is no landmark at Meridian Mark,” she wrote.
We reached out to Sandy Springs officials who said there was now a sign at the site.

Who got it fixed: Sandy Springs Communications Director Sharon Kraun, skraun@SandySpringsga.gov
Item: Atlanta (Fulton)
A reader is still concerned that an item she reported to us has not been addressed.
“An email I had sent to the AJC’s ‘What’s not working around Metro Atlanta’ about an inaccessible sidewalk at the corner of Peachtree Street NE and Club Drive was published over two months ago. Work was then initially performed for a few days, still leaving the sidewalk inaccessible for pedestrians, joggers, etc.,” Patty Cowie wrote.
She added that no work has been performed for at least six weeks.
“As I mentioned in my email, this is an extremely dangerous situation in that the only way to cross this intersection is to walk out onto busy Peachtree Road.”
We nudged city officials to see if they could provide a timeline for the fix.

Who’s looking into it: City of Atlanta Department of Public Works Commissioner James Jackson, 404-330-6240, jamesjackson@atlantaga.gov
