Fixed! DeKalb County
In August, we told you about a reader’s concern over a metal plate on North Decatur Road. Metal plates are one of the most common complaints we receive, and we’re always happy to report success when a dangerous grate is removed.
“The metal plate on the eastbound side, in front of the McDonald’s, remains to this day. I cannot fathom why this would be the case,” the reader wrote. This week we learned from county officials the irritating metal plate had been removed by the DeKalb County Watershed Management Department.

Update-DeKalb County
In September, we told you about Fred Pollard’s concern about an unusually dangerous pothole.
“A pothole on Clifton Road at Ponce de Leon Avenue has been getting larger for several months. Rebar projects into the pothole and can puncture tires that pass over it,” Pollard wrote.
We heard back this week that DeKalb County Roads and Drainage will access the pothole on Clifton Road at Ponce de Leon Avenue and provide a timely update.

New item-Cobb County
Peggy King hopes something can be done about an unusual situation in Cobb County.
“Fortunately (due to an extremely long light) there is a legal right turn on red onto busy Johnson Ferry Road at the south east corner of Oak Lane. However, a neighborhood was developed adjacent to this intersection and decided to plant tall thick perennials which block sight line of cars attempting to turn right into Johnson Ferry. I personally love plants, however feel safety of drivers should be a priority in this situation,” King wrote.
We sent the issue to Cobb County and will let you know if the shrubs get pruned or sightlines get improved.
