A reader wants something done about a shoddy street repair.

“The street repair in front of the Wells Fargo bank at 1605 Monroe Drive is terrible. There has been a metal plate over some type of a repair that has been there for weeks and shows no sign of being properly repaired. The city of Atlanta comes out and slaps a metal plate over it and considers it fixed,” the reader wrote.

We sent the issue to the city and will let you know the outcome.

A pesky water leak is giving one reader fits.

“About three weeks ago an underground pipe at 3rd and Cypress sprung a leak. (A) repair crew dug up the street and sidewalk and repaired it, but left a mess. I contacted the city via “Atl311” and included pictures but no action so far.

We sent the issue to the city’s watershed management department and will keep you updated.

Renee Vanderboom hopes something can be done about a busy area in Dunwoody.

“The Dunwoody Village Parkway construction was finally completed several months ago. Now recently they made another change to it that is not very apparent to those traveling on it, and it is much different from how the traffic used to flow at the traffic light,” she wrote.

Vanderboom said cars coming to the traffic light when traveling east at the intersection of Mt. Vernon and Dunwoody Village Parkway can only either go left , right or straight ahead.

“But there has now been a change in the traffic flow at the traffic light from what was there before and many people are not aware of it . There are now markings on the roadway that indicate that you can make a left turn from the left turn lane, and from the right turn lane you may now go either left, straight, or turn right,” she added.

She said there is no indication of this anywhere else (like a sign overhead at the lights) other than the markings on the roadway itself, and I believe it is very dangerous as most drivers are not aware of the changes that have been made.

“It would be very helpful if there would be overhead signs at the traffic lights to indicate the new traffic flow, as well as lane indication markers on the roadway itself to keep cars in their own lanes going through the corner.”

We sent the item to Dunwoody officials and keep you posted about the issue.
