New item-Old Highway 5
Theresa Brubaker sent us a photo to illustrate her concern about a busy state highway.
“This is the intersection of Old Highway 5 and Sixes Road .Turning left onto Sixes Road from Old Highway 5 is very dangerous. The two turn lanes should be clearly marked with the white dotted lanes. I have seen people forget that there are two left turn lanes (it used to be just one) and they turn as if there is only one turn lane. I have not seen an accident, but it has been very close,” she wrote.

New item-Atlanta
Bill Spencer hopes something can be done about some city tennis courts.
“I wanted to report that three lights are out on the Candler Park Tennis Courts. This is important as the daylight time to play tennis is very short these days,” he wrote.
We sent the item to the city and will let you know when it’s fixed.

Fixed-DeKalb County
In November, we got a request to help on some curbing gone bad in DeKalb County.
“For weeks, a section of granite curb has been in disarray on Briarcliff Road between Lakeside High School and Shallowford Road. Crews had begun to reset these granite curbs, but were apparently reassigned and never got back to finish the job,” wrote Truman Moore.
We got an answer back from the county.
“Just wanted to let you know this was fixed, and to reiterate that DeKalb County employees were not the responsible party for the damage in the first place. Someone took it upon themselves to make modifications to this curb, which caused the problem as described,” wrote the county’s chief communications officer Burke Brennan. DeKalb officials learned that an individual had cut the curbs and dug them out, and then could not get them back into place. They were especially dangerous at night for residents in the area because of a lack of visibility.
