Swearing-in ceremonies set for Cobb Commissioners

Cobb County Commissioner Helen Goreham will be sworn in Dec. 28 for her third term as the District 1 commissioner representing northwest Cobb.

Newly elected commissioner JoAnn Birrell will be sworn in at 4 p.m. on Jan. 3. Birrell takes over as District 3 commissioner representing northeast Cobb. Thea Powell was appointed to temporarily fill the seat in April when Tim Lee stepped down to run for commission chairman.

Both ceremonies will be held on the second floor of the county government building at 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta.
