An overnight SWAT incident at a home in Henry County ended when officers entered the house to find it empty.

Around 7 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Darwish Drive in McDonough called 911 and reported hearing screams and what sounded like gunshots from next door, Henry police Major Jason Bolton told the AJC.

After officers arrived, they reported hearing a gunshot, Bolton said. Authorities set up a perimeter, called in the SWAT unit and negotiator and tried to make contact with someone inside the house, he said.

The tenants who are leasing the house from the owner are all right, he said.

After about five hours, SWAT officers entered the house to find no one there.
