A Suwanee woman hopes to raise funds and awareness for the Georgia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America by competing in the 2011 Walk for Lupus Now race on April 30.

Janet Vergona, who is also a lupus patient and teacher in Gwinnett County, wants to raise $2,000 to support other lupus patients and help the foundation’s state chapter expand its programs.
