The Suwanee City Council recently postponed a decision on a zoning request by John A. Hastings and Lennar Georgia Inc. for property at 558 and 608 Northolt Parkway. The 11-acre property is currently zoned for mixed-use development allowing for office and institutional uses as part of a larger development known as the Terraces at Suwanee Gateway. The zoning request asks to allow for the development of 67 attached single-family townhomes.

If approved, the townhomes would be front and side brick with concrete accents and be a minimum of 24 feet wide and 2,000 square feet. The development is proposed to have one vehicular and one pedestrian access point off Northolt Parkway. There are currently two existing curb cuts onto Northholt Parkway, but the developer would like to abandon one due to constraints of stream buffers and steep topography. A new 24-foot wide street would bridge over a stream that bisects the site to allow access to the rear-entry units.

The City Council will revisit the issue at the next meeting scheduled for Feb. 28.
