The Suwanee City Council approved plans with the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police to conduct a “promotional assessment center” for managerial positions. This process puts candidates through a series of group and individual exercises designed to simulate the conditions of a specific job and determine if they have the skills and abilities necessary to perform that job.

The advantage to using an assessment center includes a standardized evaluation made by multiple trained raters or assessors.

The Suwanee police are looking to hire corporal and sergeant candidates. Funds to perform these assessments are already budgeted.
