Following a public hearing, the Suwanee City Council on Tuesday approved a special use permit to allow an outdoor area for a pet boarding facility. Unleashed Creations at 1495 Buford Highway will use the area as a walking and running area for dogs. Currently dogs are only taken outside on a leash.

With approval of the special use permit the facility, on 1.36 acres, will be able to allow pets under their care to run and play freely. To address nearby residents’ concerns, the city council approved the permit under the condition the outdoor run will be used between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and a maximum six-foot tall fence will be constructed around the outdoor area.
