Following the final opportunity for public input, the Suwanee City Council voted Tuesday to approve a new Downtown Master Plan. The new plan will now go to the Atlanta Regional Commission as part of the process in Suwanee becoming eligible for Livable Cities Initiative funding.

Key highlights of the new master plan include a focus on more development near Town Center and new roads to improve access to the area. The plan also calls for development of land across from Town Center as a new park.

Suwanee has also reaffirmed a commitment to maintaining Old Town Suwanee’s celebrated character by designating a portion of Old Town as an Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places.
