The Suwanee City Council recently voted to approve $686,752 for street resurfacing. The city received six bids for resurfacing work and has chosen the lowest bidder, Allied Paving Contractors of Pendergrass, Georgia, for the project.

The project consists of milling, patching, resurfacing, and pavement markings on 1.85 miles of various city streets, along with parking lot striping at City Hall, the Police Training Center Buildings and Suwanee Creek Park. Resurfacing projects include Shawnee North Drive, John Herndon Court, Town Center Avenue, portions of Ruby Forest Parkway, Cherrystone Court, Vickery Arbor Drive, Arbor Crest Court, Goldfield Court, portions of Landover Crossing, Heathfield Trace, Marshall Way, and portions of Idlewild Place and Jackson Street.

The city portion of the project is funded using SLPOST dollars. The Georgia Department of Transportation is providing $177,733 as part of the 2018 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program. The project is scheduled to be complete around May 2019.
