One driver will be charged after causing another vehicle to hit a woman in a crosswalk Thursday afternoon, Fulton County police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was semi-alert and was flown to a hospital after being hit on Stonewall-Tell Road, Cpl. Kay Lester told the AJC.

The driver of a Nissan Sentra stopped to let the woman walk across the street, Lester said. But a Ford Explorer struck the Sentra from behind, forcing the Sentra to hit the woman, she said.

The Ford's driver was charged with following too closely following the 5:25 p.m. wreck, Lester said.

Neither driver was seriously injured.
