2 suspects arrested in robbery of 72-year-old woman

April 13, 2012

Two suspects were arrested Thursday in connection with the armed robbery of a 72-year-old woman, Atlanta police said.

Around 1:30 p.m., a woman told police that a man with a handgun had followed her inside her Sentinel Post Road home and stolen her jewelry. She immediately called police after he left.

Investigators found and stopped the suspect's vehicle, which contained a loaded gun and the woman's property, police said. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged with armed robbery.

Police are not releasing the names of the two men, ages 26 and 32, while investigators look for possible connections to other crimes.
