The suspect in a fatal shooting at a Taco Bell in Stockbridge was arrested in Tennessee, Clayton County police said Monday.

Ellis Ray Saggus, 42, of Ellenwood was taken into custody Saturday at a Nashville home, police said. He is charged with murder and awaiting extradition to Clayton County.

Saggus is accused of shooting acquaintance Stewart Carrow in the chest during an argument at the Taco Bell in the 3800 block of Ga. 138 late Wednesday. Witnesses told police that Saggus left the restaurant in a red pickup truck.

Heather Bignault, 28, of Lilburn, who is suspected of being the driver of the vehicle, also was arrested and is awaiting extradition on charges of hindering the apprehension of a criminal, police said.

Clayton County law enforcement was assisted by Tennessee authorities in making the arrests.

Saggus' criminal history includes seven incarcerations at state prisons since 1996, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
