Gwinnett County police have arrested a suspect in a series of armed robberies targeting local pharmacies.

Aaron Neighbors, 24, has been charged with three counts of armed robbery, four counts of aggravated assault and one count each of possession of a schedule I controlled substance  and possession of a schedule III controlled substance. He was arrested on Feb. 12 at a Norcross hotel.

Neighbors has been identified as the suspect in robberies at a Rite Aid on Centerville Highway in Snellville on Jan. 8, a CVS on Burns Road in Lilburn on Jan. 16, and a CVS on Loganville Highway in Loganville on Jan. 21. He is also a suspect in the burglary of a Lilburn maintenance company. He has not been charged in that incident, but charges are expected, according to the police department.

“We are very fortunate that this suspect was identified quickly and taken into custody before his violence escalated,” Cpl. Michele Pihera, a department spokeswoman, said in a statement.
