A few days after presiding over another successful “Doggies on the Catwalk” fashion fund-raiser, Vincent Martinez became the star of another show. This one was a surprise. On Friday, Martinez had a day off from his job running Grady High School’s Urban Couture program, but the front office said he was needed to film a piece for the Atlanta Public School’s public access channel. He arrived instead to WSB-TV cameras and news that he’d just been named an Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education winner. He made some noise about “not looking his best,” since he wasn’t prepared for a television crew. Oh, pish.
