Fans tailgate at the Braves home opener at Turner Field Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2014.

If you were hoping to legally libate before one of those hot summer Braves games, then cheers to you.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners said drink up (responsibly) and approved an open-container tailgating district Atlanta Braves' new SunTrust Park on Dec. 13, 2016.

This zone extends to the stadium's neighboring mixed-use development, The Battery.

Vendors can sell alcohol using push carts and other approved cooler set-ups, including the sale of draft beer.

Cobb adopted a code similar to the one the city of Alpharetta used for Avalon to lay the groundwork for SunTrust tailgating.

If you plan on tailgating in the zone, here's the deal:

♦ You may only tailgate in designated lots (don't just pop open that brew anywhere)

♦ “Open-flame cooking” is restricted to the grass (so no grilling on the pavement)

♦ You need prior authorization for tents and “large umbrellas”

♦ Don’t hog spaces

♦ Be respectful of the portable bathrooms

♦ Don’t take your open container out of the lot

♦ The designated lot will remain unlocked for two hours after each regular season game

But The Battery has some rules for you, too:

♦ Surprise, you have to be 21 or older with a valid photo ID to drink

♦ No open containers may enter nor exit the zone (that means chug or chuck your cup coming and going)

♦ No open containers in the parking decks

♦ Two-drink maximum per person

♦ No glass containers

♦ No containers greater than 24 fluid ounces

♦ You can have more than two open containers at a time (so double-fisting drinks is allowed)
