Sunday's forecast includes two words rarely heard on Independence Day in Atlanta: low humidity.
It won't be cool, but it shouldn't be as sticky, WSB-TV Meteorologist David Chandley said Saturday night.
That's good news for the thousands of people running the AJC Peachtree Road Race, as well as those lining the streets to cheer.
"Make those outdoor plans and have a big old time," Chandley said.
Temperatures Sunday morning will be in the middle to upper 60s, with the afternoon high expected to reach 87 degrees, Chandley said. If you're planning to watch fireworks in the evening, temperatures will be in the upper 60s.
High temperatures should rise gradually by mid-week, but it will be dry, Chandley said. There is a chance of rain on Thursday, he said.
