The Sugar Hill City Council agreed Monday to sell four parcels of land in the downtown area for future commercial development. The land, known as the Heather Pines/Bailey Property, is located along Ga. Highway 20.

The agreement allows the city to sell the property to the Sugar Hill Downtown Development Authority for a minimum of $3.5 million. In turn, the SHDDA will work with Solomon Development Services to develop the tract. Plans include a facility for independent and assisted living, as well as a restaurant. Construction is expected to take 150 days once all contracts are in place.
