The Sugar Hill City Council voted Monday to purchase a small parcel of land at 1193 Hillcrest Drive. The city will pay $325,000 for the 0.324-acre parcel adjacent to land the city already owns.

Community Development Partners has preliminary plans for a mixed-use development in the area. Assuming plans proceed, the city will sell the land to developers for the project located northwest of city hall. The parcel is currently accessible from State Route 20 and West Broad Street.
